---- Chapter 95 Hailey looked at Tara with disdain as the latter walked out of the elevator. Hailey sneered. "Who knows if you two have any ulterior motives. You've just returned, but you're already so eager to show up wherever the men are." Hailey's gaze held clear intent as she addressed Tara, a look Betty didn't miss. Though new to the workforce, Betty sensed the unspoken message in Hailey's words, a message Hailey telegraphed so strongly one would have to be deaf not to perceive it.

"That's bullshit! I asked Tara for help. How could you think of her like that?" Betty hissed. She was afraid that Hailey, with her sharp tongue, might hurt Tara's feelings. Tara was innocent for getting dragged into this after lending Betty a hand. Despite Betty's displeasure , Hailey remained adamant. Although her voice turned softer, her tone dripped with sarcasm when she spoke again. "I don't even need to speculate. She knows exactly what she's done back then." Betty fumed. "So what?

Don't you also like-" Upon hearing that, Hailey's expression changed ---- instantly, and she cut Betty short. "Hey! Don't spout nonsense!" She glanced around warily and only relaxed when she found that Terence wasn't around. But Betty wasn't going to stop at that. She continued, "So what if you have a crush on Mr. Farrell? Are you going to forbid anyone else from having a crush on him? You're being unreasonable!" Hailey had the urge to clamp her hands over Betty's mouth.

"Shut it!" It then dawned on Betty that she had just discovered Hailey's weakness, and Hailey was scared that others might find out about her crush on Soren. "T knew it!" Betty yelped. Fear gripped Hailey's heart, and she said, "Just you wait, Betty. I'll let you go this time, but I'll have my revenge!" But Betty wasn't as cowardly as before. She retorted, "I'm not scared of you. If you dare to badmouth Tara again, I swear I won't let you go either." Hailey blew her top.

How audacious it was for a newbie like her to talk back to her! Just then, Tara walked over to Betty and tapped the play button on her phone screen to play a recording. ---- The color drained from Hailey's face as she listened to the recording. In the past, Tara wouldn't go to the extent of voice- recording someone else. Hailey demanded, "What are you trying to do?" Before this, Tara would turn a deaf ear to gossip like this.

However , the longer she ignored things , the worse the situation became. Although the original host had done something like recording people's conversations before, Tara wouldn't let that deter her from what she was going todo. She said flippantly, "I thought you loved telling on others. Well, this time, I'll tell on you." Hailey knew Terence frowned upon disputes like these, so he might fire her if he found out she hadn't repented and turned a new leaf.

Immediately, her tone changed, and she started, "'Tara-" Tara wasn't going to show mercy this time. "I've sent him the recording." In a split second, Hailey's expression shifted, and she scowled. Her eyes were full of hatred when she looked at Tara. "If I get sacked, I'll see to it that you get fired too. Tara didn't even flinch at the threat. "That's fine by me. I can find another job anyway.

The only thing is that the ---- pay might not be this good." She continued , "On the other hand, things aren't really optimistic back at your home, huh? You bullied newcomers and verbally abused your colleagues. If you do get fired, the person you should blame is neither me nor Betty... It's yourself." Tara made it clear that she and Betty wouldn't take the blame. Hearing that, Betty nodded her agreement . Tara 'was absolutely right about that! By then, Hailey's face was already as dark as ash.

Her feet were glued to the ground as she glared at Tara and Betty. Tara's words were like a slap to Hailey's face, waking her up from her livid and indignant daze. Hailey fell silent. Taking the opportunity, Tara pushed the cart to the bar, and Betty quickly followed after Tara. "Tara, thanks. Let me push the cart back to the kitchen," Betty offered. Tara let go of the trolley, and Betty busied herself.

As for whether Hailey would get fired, Tara actually sent the recording to Terence because she had had enough of Hailey causing trouble for her and Betty. Based on the original host's memories of the gossip she had heard about Hailey, Hailey came from a poor family but studied really hard to excel academically . However , ---- her parents didn't want to support her in continuing to study in high school.

Hailey didn't want to marry herself off and stay stuck in the countryside forever, so she negotiated with her parents, telling them that if they allowed her to go to college , she would pay for her three siblings ' expenses when they furthered their studies. Her parents agreed, probably because Hailey was a top student , and they wanted to make a bet that she would succeed.

Later, Hailey successfully graduated from college and kept her promise, but her siblings' expenses increased tremendously , and her parents wanted more and more from her. At the end of the day, she didn't have much money left after giving her family most of her pay. Things were bad until she bumped into one of her relatives , who suggested she try this housekeeping job.

Although the job of being a housekeeper didn't bring her as much pride or glory as she wanted, she would be paid 20 grand in her first month at the job. She would also get paid more once she officially became part of the housekeeping team. Terence and Gemma knew of Hailey's situation , so they wouldn't consider firing Hailey if things weren't too serious. However, coming from a less wealthy family didn't give Hailey the right to hurt or make things difficult for the newcomers.

---- Tara had just returned from abroad and got jet lag, so she needn't start work right away. After a hot shower, she went straight to bed without even having dinner. It was probably due to the exhaustion that she hada dreamless sleep that night. The air was cool and crisp after the rain in the morning the next day. Tara went to the backyard and stretched as she took a deep breath of fresh air.

It was freezing around her just two days ago, but today, she got to bask in the warmth the summer sun brought. The stark difference made her think that it was pleasantly strange. "Tara, I'll take it from here. Mr. Oakley wants you to go to the pool," Betty said after running over to Tara. Tara had almost forgotten about the task Terence had assigned her.
