Chapter 5

Leah was surprised to see Tara pick up the fruit platter and head towards Shawn's door. She couldn't understand Tara's intentions and wondered if she was interested in someone new.

Tara knocked gently on Shawn's door without even looking at Leah. After a brief pause, Shawn's warm voice invited her in.

As Tara opened the door, Leah wheeled the serving cart away, her curious eyes fixed on Tara.

The cool-toned decor and soft lighting in Shawn's bedroom made Tara feel a sense of weightiness as she entered. Shawn, in loungewear, sat elegantly on the couch, his tall frame drawing attention. When he noticed Tara's entrance, he looked up.
In the subdued light, Tara seemed to glow as she walked in, her stunning beauty and curves catching Shawn's eye. Though his expression remained neutral, recognition flickered in his eyes as he remembered her as the housekeeper who had upset Jonah.

Shawn didn't shy away from Tara's approach. His composed gaze acknowledged her captivating appearance. Tara placed the fruit platter on the coffee table without flinching.

"Enjoy, Mr. Wilhelm," she said before leaving without hesitation, closing the door gently behind her.

After Tara left, Leah emerged from Jonah's room, her face tense with alarm. She pushed the serving cart toward Tara, her resentment evident. If Tara hadn't flirted with Jonah, Leah wouldn't be facing his cold indifference now.

Leah's bitter feelings surged as she handed the cart to Tara with impatience and disdain. Tara, unfazed by Leah's attitude, wheeled the cart down the hallway without a word, preferring to avoid pointless arguments.

Leah expected a reaction from Tara but was met with indifference. This only fueled Leah's anger, leaving her frustrated and silenced.

Tara knocked on Soren's door and announced the fruit platter's arrival. Soren, slightly irritated, asked her to wait before inviting her in.

Inside, Soren, looking freshly showered, lounged in silk pajamas, a frown creasing his sharp features. Tara, inexperienced in relationships, failed to realize she had interrupted him.

Soren's annoyance at her presence was evident as he asked her to leave once the platter was placed on the table. Tara maintained her composure, informing him she was assigned to deliver fruit platters and leaving without delay.

Soren watched her leave with a hint of amusement before dismissing her from his thoughts. Tara then headed to Lance's room.

Upon entering, Tara found Lance playing the guitar, his serene posture undisturbed by her presence. She placed the fruit platter down quietly and left without a word, allowing Lance to continue his music undisturbed.
As she closed the door behind her, Tara hummed softly, guiding the cart to the elevator. Her shift finally over, she looked forward to resting after a long day.

Tara chose contentment, focusing on saving money during her contract. The empty grand hall greeted her as she headed back to her room, a tapping sound briefly unsettling her.

After a hot shower, Tara fell into a restless sleep, waking up to the first light of morning. Terence directed her to assist at breakfast, avoiding Jonah due to a past incident.

Terence redirected Tara to help at the dining area instead of going for breakfast, understanding the shortage of staff. Tara, concerned about Jonah's reaction, sought reassurance that her pay wouldn't be affected.

Terence assured her and assigned her to assist Mr. Swain. Tara promised to avoid any trouble, earning Terence's trust.

In the dining area, the four men sat in silence, each exuding a commanding presence and quiet refinement.
