Chapter 43 Tara came to a halt as she felt Soren's hand on her right arm. Despite her sleeve acting as a barrier, she couldn't help but blush slightly. She attempted to free herself from his grasp, but found herself unable to do so. "Mr. Farrell?" she inquired, looking at him with confusion, wondering if he had any further questions for her. Being just a housekeeper, she didn't possess much knowledge.
Soren then spoke in a serious tone, "Do you always stand behind Shawri like you did before?" Initially, Tara didn't grasp his question. After a moment, she realized he was referring to how she used to stand behind Shawn while attending to his meals. She thought Soren was cautioning her not to get too close to his friends, similar to Jonah's and Jasper's concerns about her potentially seducing Soren and the others.
Feeling Soren's grip on her arm tighten and start to cause discomfort, Tara assumed he was genuinely concerned about his friends and apprehensive about her tarnishing their reputation. "Mr. Wilhelm and Mr. Pearson didn't have a housekeeper assigned to stand behind them. Since Mr. Pearson disliked it, I stopped. That's why I chose to stand behind Mr. Wilhelm," she explained truthfully, denying any hidden agenda toward Soren or the others.

Despite her reassurance, Soren continued to hold her arm, his motives unclear. Was he reluctant to see her leave, or was he afraid of her departure? After listening to her explanation, he gazed at her intently. Tara couldn't discern if he believed her or not. "Do you truly have no ulterior motives?" he inquired. To alleviate his concerns, she pledged, "Mr. Farrell, I harbor no ill intentions toward you or your friends. Please don't worry.
I simply aim to perform my duties proficiently to prevent any issues from arising again." She hoped her words would assuage his worries. Soren's demeanor shifted slightly, and he released Tara's arm, appearing perturbed by her earlier remarks. However, without saying a word, he watched her depart with the cart. Noticing Soren's solemn and disappointed expression before she left, Tara surmised he still harbored doubts. Nonetheless, she was unfazed.
Having expressed her sincerity, she believed he could draw his own conclusions. Outside the elevator, Stella awaited Tara. Following their earlier encounter, Stella was determined to prevent Tara from getting close to Lance or Jonah. As Tara wheeled the cart towards the elevator, she ignored Stella, aware of Stella's ill intentions. Upon reaching the elevator, Tara entered without acknowledging Stella, who had already returned her cart to the first floor.
Though Stella kept a watchful eye on Tara, the elevator doors closed, separating them from each other's view. Back in the kitchen, Tara handed over the cart for someone else to clean the tableware, finally granting her a chance to grab some food. Meanwhile, Stella remained on the second floor by the elevator, her attention fixed on Tara's departure. After a brief moment, Stella decided to head downstairs. As the elevator doors opened, a driver who had brought Stella back to the villa the previous day rushed out, catching her by surprise.
