Chapter 63 Sores brightened, releasing Tara. "Stella's injured and needs rest, but we're perfectly fine." Tara felt utterly embarrassed. The cold made her already sluggish mind even slower, causing her reactions to be even more delayed. Seen lightly flicked her forehead through her hat. "You silly thing." Even through the thick material, it stung slightly. Tara glared at him, then attempted to step on his foot as she walked past.

The icy ground was treacherous, and she not only missed but nearly tumbled forward. Thankfully, Lance's quick reflexes caught her just in time. Soren stood there, doubled over with laughter, while Lance and Shawn couldn't suppress their chuckles. Tara's face flushed crimson. She'd never felt such profound embarrassment in either of her lives. She quickly tugged the brim of her hat lower, feeling as though she couldn't meet anyone's eyes.

Jonah, noticing Tara's dazed state from the cold, shook his head in helpless amusement. It was clear riding wasn't her forte. "Are you okay?" Lance's deep, soothing voice came from right beside her, so close it felt like he was whispering in her ear. Tara gasped, realizing a moment later that his hand still rested on her lower back. The thick layers of clothing had initially masked their closeness.

"Thank you for grabbing," she stammered, quickly brushing his hand away and stepping back to create distance. Lance's gaze deepened as he looked at her. On the way back to the vacation villa, a sudden realization struck her, and her expression darkened instantly. They were abroad, and her ankle was sprained. This would undoubtedly play to Tara's advantage. She had completely overlooked this possibility. She glared furiously at her sprained right foot.

She had inadvertently created an opportunity for Tara. Stella was so angry that she could hardly catch her breath. Without her around, Tara would likely seize the chance to seduce them. She had to come up with a plan. Tara hadn't anticipated them to continue skiing. Lunch was at the ski resort restaurant, where she sat at a separate table with some of the assistants. Earlier, Soren and the others had invited her to join them, but Tara had declined each time.

Already wanting to maintain her distance, she certainly didn't want to share a meal with them. Seeing her reluctance, they hadn't pursued the issue. Around 4:00 pm, as the setting sun cast a warm glow, they headed toward the cable car to watch the sunset. Afterward, they would go directly back to the vacation villa, meaning Tara had to accompany them. On the way to the cable car, he deliberately led her pace, staying behind the assistants to hold both Lance and Shawn.

She had hoped to ride the cable car with the assistants rather than the four men. Just before they reached the cable car, Soren suddenly came looking for her. Tara watched as he weaved through the group of assistants, grabbed her, and pulled her closer. Soren leaned down with a smile and whispered in her ear, "Hiding behind the assistants, thinking I wouldn't notice you?"
