---- Chapter 80 Athin layer of snow had settled over the villa's courtyard, dusting the plants like icing sugar. The stone paths, however, had been meticulously cleared. The sky was gray, heavy with clouds, and the chill in the air mirrored the dark moods of two particular men. Lance, Soren, and Shawn were having lunch on the first floor. Tara stood behind Shawn, quietly attending to him as he ate. Out of the corner of her eye, she finally noticed Lance and Soren's unusually grim expressions .

Her heart skipped. She'd almost forgotten-tonight, she'd be delivering their dinners alone. Had she done something to offend them? Besides keeping her distance, she hadn't done anything out of line... right? Clinging to that small hope, she tried to convince herself their foul moods had nothing to do with her. Just then, Soren, who sat opposite her, stood up. His usual charm was gone, his handsome face now stone cold. The moment their eyes nearly met, she looked away in a rush.
She knew she was in trouble. She wasn't sure if Lance was upset because of her, but Soren definitely was. ---- The thought of delivering dinner to him tonight filled her with dread. After lunch, she quietly made her way to find Russell. When he saw her standing before him, hesitant and clearly anxious, he immediately sensed something was off. "Tara? Is everything alright?" After a moment of hesitation , she said, "Mr.

Robertson , would it be possible to have another housekeeper accompany me when I deliver meals tonight?" Russell raised an eyebrow. "You're not able to manage on your own?" The idea seemed far-fetched, given that her main task was just bringing meals to the rooms above. Tara nodded. "I'm probably just not used to the environment here. I haven't been feeling well the past couple of days. "T thought I could tough it out, but I woke up this morning feeling sore all over.

I'm worried I might be coming down with something and don't want to risk passing it to them. "T just thought maybe someone else could start learning the routine, just in case I really do get sick." Russell studied her. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes ---- clear-she didn't look sick in the slightest. But her reasoning made sense. "T'll need to check with them first to see if they're alright with the change." It was too late to walk back her words now.

She could only wait anxiously for the outcome. She wasn't expecting what came next. A short while later, two private doctors arrived and politely led her to a guest room for an examination. Tara was stunned. She hadn't thought they'd take her claim so seriously. The doctors were thorough, checking everything from vitals to blood samples. She sat there quietly, too mortified to protest. By evening, the test results came back. She was in perfect health-except for a minor iron deficiency.

Russell returned to her with the report in hand. His expression was puzzled, but there was no hint of suspicion. "The doctors say everything looks normal. Are you sure you've been feeling unwell?" Tara felt incredibly guilty. She never imagined they would actually get doctors over to examine her. Of course the results were normal-she hadn't been sick in the first place. She hadn't expected her little excuse to spiral this far.
---- Russell continued , "It might be the iron deficiency , but that's something easily managed through diet. You'll only be here a few more days anyway." "T've already spoken to Terence ," he added kindly. "The chef will start preparing some meals that'll help with your iron levels." Tara flushed with embarrassment. "Mr. Robertson... actually, I-" He gently cut her off. "No need to refuse. The boys requested it, and it doesn't add much work.

Gemma also agrees you've been doing too much on your own. She's arranged for an extra bonus." "Unfortunately, this is a necessary task. Serving the boys can present some challenges , so you'll likely need to go the extra mile." Tara felt guilty, unsure of what to do. She shouldn't have lied about being unwell just to avoid work. Russell noticed the way she stood silently, a sheen of sweat forming on her brow. He gave her another warm smile. "If you're tired, go take a break.

There's not much to do at the moment." She remained where she was, watching him walk away. Since arriving in this world, only a few people had treated ---- her with sincere kindness-Russell, Terence, and Gemma. None of them had ever judged her.
