---- Chapter 130 Tara tried to stop Soren, but it was too late. With the two large bags in hand, he stepped into her house for the first time. He looked around and found the decoration refreshing . He then opened the fridge and put the items away as if he were the man of the house. Tara shoved Soren out of the door. He half-smirked, clearly enjoying the treatment of being nudged along by her and the unexpected physical contact.

"Get out!" After pushing Soren out into the yard, Tara quickly closed the door, leaving him no chance to go back in. From that day on, Tara avoided him even more than before. Even if they happened to cross paths, she would immediately steer clear. He began calling and texting her from another number. At first, she didn't know it was him, so she answered the phone. But as soon as she heard his voice , she hung up. However, she didn't block the number; she knew he would just switch to a new one.

Thus, it wasn't necessary. More than 20 days passed, and Tara was still avoiding Soren. There had been no further developments between ---- them. Whenever she saw him, she would immediately run. back into her cottage and slam the door shut. Tara figured he should be close to giving up, so she became even more determined to avoid him. Soren was in no hurry to talk to her. Every time she ran, he never chased after her.
About a week later, Tara stood by the window, thinking Soren must be gone by now. He had only booked the room. the day before. She hadn't seen him at all yesterday or this morning. Just then, Mandy knocked on her door, looking weary and worn. Tara went downstairs to open the door. In just a dozen or so days, Mandy looked visibly worse. Tara invited her in to talk and poured her a glass of warm. water. "Tara, you might not be able to rent this house much longer," Mandy said.

"Did something happen?" Tara asked softly, thinking something big must have happened for Mandy to want to sell the cottage. Mandy sighed and said, "Word is, the entire area will be developed into a golf course. They've offered us a decent price, but it's still a heavy loss for us." Tara was surprised by the sudden news. This place was ---- near a scenic area with decent foot traffic.

If it were developed into a golf course, it would definitely come with a large hotel, so a project like this wouldn't lose money. Unable to accept the news, Mandy let out another deep sigh. "We make our living off tourism here. If the land and the houses are gone, we'll have nothing left." Moreover, the place was filled with memories, making it hard for them to part with. Tara didn't know how to comfort her. All she could do was listen.

"They promised us they wouldn't develop this area," Mandy muttered in confusion. "And that was why we built our houses here. I never thought news like this would suddenly come out of nowhere." Tara suddenly thought of Soren, and her heart skipped a beat. The Soren in the story was unpredictable and ruthless. Unconsciously, she clenched her fists. Could this be Soren's doing?

Before leaving , Mandy said she would let Tara know in advance if the news turned out to be true so that she would have time to move out. She would also refund the full deposit to her. Tara felt a heavy weight in her chest when she heard that. ---- She walked Mandy out. Just then, a tall figure stepped out from the shade and appeared at the gate. "Oh, Soren's still here!" No matter how foul her mood was, Mandy couldn't help but smile when she saw Soren.

He gave a warm, sunny smile and chatted with her for a bit. Despite the hot weather , Tara still felt a chill run down her spine when she saw this scene. If this was really Soren's doing, she couldn't even imagine how terrifying he actually was. The stark contrast between his two personalities made her break out in cold sweat. In her dazed state, she realized she was only now beginning to understand the real Soren. Not wanting to disturb Soren's time with Tara, Mandy left first.

Tara felt even worse watching her leave with heavy steps. Even though they were offered money, this place was near a scenic area-a spot that could benefit generations to come. And more than anything, it was their hometown. After Mandy left, Tara turned toward Soren. He smirked. And as if sensing her gaze, he slowly met her eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked with a ---- chuckle. Tara hesitated, wondering if she was overthinking things. She didn't know whether to ask.
"Did you know about the golf course development?" Soren was still smiling. "Yup." That smile chilled Tara. It was the first time she realized he was on par with Shawn. "You're the one behind it, aren't you?" she asked, struggling to get the question out. His smile didn't fade in the slightest. "Yup." Her expression was one of disbelief. "Why would you-" But before she could finish, she already knew the answer.

The smile dropped from Soren's face, revealing a shadowed intensity and hungry possessiveness in his gaze. "You know what I want." Panic flashed in Tara's eyes. How could he do something like this? "It's honestly boring staying here, and I can't even see you. The sooner you agree to be my girlfriend, the sooner we can leave this place together," Soren said. 1 ---- Tara hesitated before going back into her home and locking the door. That afternoon, Elaine came by to vent about the situation.

"Judy's been really upset since she heard about the golf course development. The guesthouse meant everything to them. They had planned to spend the rest of their lives living off it, but it seemed like fate had other plans." Every word Tara heard weighed heavier on her heart. She was already the type to overthink and stress herself out, especially when it came to something like this. In fact, the guilt she was feeling right now nearly overwhelmed her.

That evening, she began packing up her things. The Soren she faced now was terrifying in a way she had never imagined . If he hadn't lost his memory , he might have taken her feelings into account and not have gone this far. But without those memories , he embodied the ruthless ambition described in the story to chilling perfection.
