Chapter 61 At the high speed on the black diamond slope, a collision was almost certain to result in broken bones. Yan's face turned pale, the end felt near. But in an instant, Stella pulled Yan aside, causing him to tumble onto the snow. She, however, landed with a softer impact against Lance's frown. "My ankle," Stella murmured in a low, strained voice, sweat beading on her forehead from the pain. She turned to Lance, signaling that she thought she had twisted it.

Lance said nothing, immediately calling for the ski patrol for a stretcher and a private doctor. Inside the VIP lounge, Tera noticed the ski patrol arriving with a stretcher. She stood up and approached them. Stella was carefully placed on the stretcher, awaiting the private orthopedist. Stella lay there, her face ghostly white, clearly in pain. Setting aside any past animosity, Taca poured Stella a cup of warm liquid. "Here, drink this first," Taca said.

Stella's eyes flickered with surprise as she glanced around. None of the four men or their assistants were present except for the ski patrol. Confusion crossed her face. It made no sense for Tera to be this kind; this should have been her moment to feel vindicated. As Stella's awareness sharpened, she felt warmth spreading through her fingers - Taca had already placed the cup in her hands. Moments later, Lance walked in.

His deep blue ski suit looked sharp on his tall, lean frame, making his entrance almost like a model on a runway. He set his skis aside, removed his gloves, and approached Stella's stretcher. Ryan, who had fallen hard earlier, winced as he touched his bruised stomach. He stood beside Lance, clearly disgruntled but too afraid to complain. "The private doctor will be here in two minutes," Lance said quietly. Stella gave her usual gentle smile.

"It's nothing serious, but I still appreciate you calling a private doctor." Lance replied firmly, "This qualifies as a workplace injury. It's my responsibility." A subtle smile touched Stella's lips. She was confident this incident wouldn't result in her termination; instead, it could turn out to be beneficial for her... Lance then shifted his gaze toward Tara, who was standing to the side. He watched her silently without saying anything.

His unwavering look led Tara to misinterpret his thoughts. Noticing his attention, she assumed he was displeased with her. While Stella had been injured after following them onto the slopes, Tara had remained inside, enjoying the warmth and comfort. She felt Lance was blaming her, perhaps wondering why Stella had been the one to get hurt instead of her. A sense of foreboding washed over her, the feeling that fate was finding a new way to target her.

But with Lance's silence, she couldn't be sure of his thoughts. Soon after, the private doctor arrived and began tending to Stella's sprained ankle. Just then, Jonah and Shawn entered the lounge one after another. Jonah immediately sought an explanation from Lance about what had occurred, while Shawn remained completely silent.
