Sela had spoken, she pushed the cat toward the door. Lantos saw the gesture and asked, "Have you had your dinner yet?" Tara stopped pushing the cart. "Yes, I have." Lance knew some of the housekeepers' rules, including that they usually ate after the guests. He chose not to mention it, but he could tell she was avoiding him. Laire silently watched her leave. After a long moment, he leaned back on the couch. His gaze was dark and unwilling.

The sound of the car wheels echoed in the quiet corridor, yet it stood out in the stillness. At that moment, Tara knocked on Soren's door. Not half a minute later, the door opened from within. When Soren opened the door, his hair was still damp. His handsome face came into Tara's view, along with his tall and fit physique. Under the light, his defined muscles caught Tara off guard, leaving her stunned. She quickly covered her eyes, not daring to look at Soren, who only had a towel on.
Seeing the flush spreading across her skin, Soren's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as his eyes slowly shifted away from her neck. He joked in a soft chuckle. "What's there to be shy about? It's not like you haven't seen it before." Tara still refused to move her hands, stumbling over her words. "It's different. Back then, you were at the pool." Soren didn't press the matter. Unhurriedly, he turned and walked back to his bedroom. Only then did Tara dare to push the meal cart inside.

She quickened her pace and placed his dinner on the dining table. Just as she turned to leave, Soren caught her right wrist. He was now dressed in a black bathrobe. His hand was warm, possibly because he had just taken a shower, and it made her heart race. Tara told him in confusion, trying to pull free from his grip. "Mr. Farrell?" Soren showed no intention of letting go. He said teasingly, "Why are you running off so fast?

You think I'm going to eat you?" Unable to break free, Tara hurriedly said, "Mr. Wilhelm's dinner is still on the cart. I need to deliver it to him, or it'll get cold." Soren didn't seem fazed. "So what if it gets cold? Why do you care so much about him?" His tone was calm when he asked, but it sent a chill down Tara's spine. Tara didn't notice the bitterness in his words and quickly replied, "If the food gets cold, they'll deduct it from my pay." Soren finally lightened his tone.

"It's just a small amount. I'll cover that for you." Tara didn't want to accept it. She didn't want her pay deducted, and she definitely didn't want to get too involved with Soren. His words just didn't sit right with her. "Mr. Farrell, please let me go." Intimate gestures were a recurring habit of his when it came to banter. Even Tara, generally quite oblivious, had noticed that his recent actions toward her were out of the ordinary.

Soren released her, observing the blush creeping up her ears. His gaze softened, a deeper emotion now evident in his eyes. Tara quickly pulled the meal cart out of his room, relieved that he didn't stop her. The door shut behind her, and she examined the wrist he had just held. Her skin, prone to blush, now bore a faint red mark. The warmth of his hand still lingered, a reminder of the firm pressure he had exerted. Tara couldn't figure out what she had done wrong.
She wondered why Soren would be interested in her. She had always thought he was just teasing her, but now it seemed like there was more. She bit her lip, realizing she needed to be more careful from now on. Tara gathered her scattered thoughts and knocked on Shawn's door. Hearing the polite response from inside, Tara felt relieved. Shawn was definitely much more normal compared to the others. "Mr. Wilhelm, I've brought you dinner." Shane seemed to be immersed, not turning to look at her.

Tara quietly noted that he was, as she had anticipated, the most well-mannered and normal of them all. Nodding, he continued composing music. Tara quietly placed the meal down and left. A smile lit up Shawn's face as he finally looked up, his eyes following the cart out behind her. He spoke warmly, "Thank you," watching her slender figure as she wheeled the cart away. His gaze was so still and quiet that it felt haunting. The night drew on, peaceful and calm.

Tara started to question the day and why her thoughts were so heavy that she could barely keep them coherent. That night, she drifted off, exhausted.
