---- Chapter 134 Summer faded into fall. That morning, Tara was in the villa's living room unpacking local specialities mailed over by Mandy. No matter what she said, Mandy insisted on sending them. She had just sent a return gift yesterday , warning that if they sent anything again, she would refuse to accept it. Only then did Mandy reluctantly agree to receive it while repeatedly saying she was being too generous. Tara opened the package and placed the local specialties aside.
In the first week she had moved into the villa, both Mandy and Judy had called her to say the development project had been canceled and reassured her not to worry. Their cheerful tone over the phone had truly put her at ease. Suddenly, Soren hugged her from behind and brought his phone to her ear so she could listen to a song. Tara thought the new song was especially tender and emotional, completely unlike his usual personality. It felt jarring, to say the least.
"It's nice, and very heartfelt." Soren kissed her cheek with a smile. "I wrote this song for ---- you. She turned her head, her beautiful eyes wide with surprise. He wrote it for her? Seeing her shocked expression , Soren couldn't help but pinch her cheek. "You're a dummy. Even my fans could tell it was written for you." He sighed again at how oblivious she could be. Most couples had the man being careless and the woman. attentive, yet it was the other way around with them.
Tara gave an embarrassed smile. She hadn't even considered that possibility. "I found something strange. There are two songs where I'm listed as the lyricist and composer, but I have no memory of writing or releasing them," Soren said. He had come across the songs while browsing a streaming app. Both were credited to him, yet completely unfamiliar. He didn't even know they existed. He sat down on the couch with Tara in his arms. She lowered her gaze, watching as he searched his phone.
The next moment, one of the songs with a biting tone started to play from his phone. She glanced at the release date. It had come out about two months after she transmigrated. Soren took on the perspective of an observer , using the song to mock the ---- darker sides of human nature. No matter the social class, there was always conflict, like a modern court drama. At first, Tara didn't think the song had anything to do with her.
But the second song turned out to be an emotional release , filled with raw pain. The music and lyrics practically drowned the listeners in sorrow. She checked its release date. It was posted the day before their memories had been wiped. Since Soren had no recollection of these two songs, it meant the inspiration behind them was tied to her.
Seeing how intently she was analyzing , Soren chuckled and teased, "You're studying it so seriously , so what's your take on it?" Tara more or less understood what was going on, but she couldn't tell him. Thus, she just shook her head without saying a word. There was no way Soren could ever figure this out, just like he couldn't explain the sudden appearance of the walk-in closet. Soren stared at her. "That walk-in closet is stilla mystery .

Even the underwear in it is exactly your si-" Tara flushed red and stopped him from continuing. "I really have no clue about that." Noticing her slip in her words, Soren smirked at her. "So, ---- you do know where those two songs came from?" Tara shook her head hard. "I have even less of a clue about that." Soren suddenly laughed. "I'm just teasing you. Why are you so nervous?" She buried herself in his arms, saying nothing. Another month went by.
Tara thought Soren's feelings for her might fade with time, but instead , they only deepened. Throughout this time, he hardly attended social events or parties. Occasionally , he made a trip to Farrell Group, but for the most part, he stayed by her side. Tara's mindset was to go with the flow. She wasn't planning to back away, nor had she thought about asking him for any kind of commitment. In the depths of autumn, the mornings and evenings had grown cold.
When she woke up, she instinctively reached for Soren's arm. She groped around, only to find there was no one beside her. Tara opened her eyes groggily. The entire bed was empty, except for her. This was the first time it had happened. Normally, he got up whenever she did. Yawning , she got out of bed and went to wash up in the ---- bathroom. She then changed into a white spaghetti-strap maxi dress, layered with a white cardigan .
Her smooth dark hair draped over her delicate shoulders, giving her a gentle, almost fragile beauty. She opened the door and headed downstairs . Since she didn't exercise often and the bedroom was on the second floor, she usually took the stairs instead of the elevator . Once she reached the living room on the first floor, Tara instinctively looked around for Soren. If she didn't, he would definitely complain that she never took the initiative to find him first.
She couldn't help but feel helpless at that. After all, they spent almost every waking moment together , so where would she ever get the chance to look for him? As she entered the living room, she was greeted by the sight of three tall men sitting on the couch. Soren had his back to her, while the other two men faced her direction. Lance was dressed in a crisp suit, every inch of him exuding the elegance and arrogance of someone used to being in power.
After taking a sip of coffee, he discussed business with Soren at a measured pace. Shawn, on the other hand, was as refined and scholarly - looking as ever. His gold-rimmed glasses blended seamlessly with the image he maintained. Among the three, he spoke the least. Occasionally, he would chime in ---- with a different perspective. Tara froze the moment she heard the familiar yet unfamiliar voices of the other two men. By then, she had already stepped into the living room.
Her pupils dilated and her body stiffened when she saw the two men on the opposite couch. Just as their gazes were about to land on her, she spun around abruptly and retreated quickly. Lance caught a glimpse of her figure and slowly set down his coffee mug. "That's the girlfriend you've been hiding away all this time?" he asked Soren. By the time Soren turned around, Tara was already hiding behind a pillar, so they couldn't see her from where they were sitting.
He smirked and replied, "Yeah, that's her." After taking just one look, Shawn adjusted his glasses. His eyes darkened. There was something familiar about that slender silhouette.
