---- Chapter 103 At the floor-to-ceiling window of a room on the second floor, Jonah watched the scene unfolding below. There was no emotion on his face, as if he were watching a play that didn't concern him. He rubbed his forehead , then turned and returned to his room to rest. Tara's gentle hands from that day flashed through his mind. 2 She really had eased his fatigue. On the first floor, Tara hung the umbrella on the stand by the door, ready to return to her room to rest.

As she passed the corner by the floor-to-ceiling window, Tara's eyes caught something out of the corner of her vision. She stopped in her tracks. Lance stood by the window, tall and poised in a sharp suit. His handsome face was striking under the light, and he stared intently at her. He didn't say a word, but she could tell he was waiting for her to walk over to him. Maybe he would let her go if she made the first move to approach him. Tara froze for a split second.
She took a quick step back and turned, running to her room like someone was ---- chasing after her. Tara shut the door. The look Lance gave her was dark and deep, just like the other day. She forced herself to stop thinking, especially about the last two times she found herself tempted by him. Late that night, Tara lay fast asleep. But her dreams didn't let her rest. It felt like her entire body was falling from a great height. The next second, she was in the arms of the man behind her.

The man was dressed tidily in a sharp, serious- looking suit. Tara watched his well-defined hand as he signed off on the project. Bookshelves surrounded them, and before her, a laptop was open, while stacks of folders nearly consumed the desk itself. The man signed his name with his left hand, the strokes bold and firm. She stared at the signature. When she saw it clearly, her eyes widened. That man was Jonah! + As his nonsensical words faded away, Tara jolted awake from her dream.

---- Breathing heavily, she opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. She must have lost her mind to dream about Jonah. Tara was completely stunned. Why would she dream of him? She was so mortified that she covered her face with both hands. Rolling up in her blanket and burying her blushing face into the bed, she tried to shake off the memory. The dream left her so flustered that she couldn't even look Jonah in the eye the next morning . He was also so proper, distant, and composed.

How could he possibly say the kind of things he did in her dream? Tara had just wrapped up her work right before lunch break that day. Terence, who had planned to ask Betty to deliver coffee to Lance, turned and saw Tara instead. "Tara, take an iced Frosticano to Mr. Swain's room." He gave her the orders before leaving in a rush. He still had things to do. By the time Tara registered what he had said, Terence had already disappeared around the corner. Tara stood frozen on the spot.
She had to take an iced Frosticano to Lance's room? ---- She quickly ran to Betty for help. Betty agreed. But after a few steps, she clutched her stomach, and her face twisted in pain. "Tara, my stomach hurts. I need to go to the restroom . Try asking someone else." She must have been too greedy with the ice cream earlier and eaten too much of it. She didn't wait for Tara's reply and rushed to the restroom.

Tara lowered the hand she had reached out with and had no choice but to look for someone else. She went around asking, but everyone was on their break. No one was willing to take on the task. Hailey looked at Tara, who had come over. She yawned , dying for a midday nap. "Tf Stella were still working here, she would definitely love to help. But she just got sent home." Tara sighed internally. She had to accept her fate.

Hailey saw her dejected look and thought Tara was afraid Lance didn't like her. But lately, he didn't seem to dislike Tara at all. She said, "Don't be scared. Be brave like you were before. Mr. Swain doesn't seem to hate you like he used to." ---- At Hailey's encouragement , Tara gave her a small nod. She resigned herself to it and turned toward the elevator. On the second floor, Tara stood at Lance's door. Since returning from abroad, she had never gone to his room again. She held the tray with one hand and knocked on the door, waiting for Lance to answer.
