---- Chapter 121 Tara entered the walk-in closet and noticed another door at the far end. Shawn had mentioned it was the walk-in closet at the back. With her legs still weak, Tara stepped into the innermost walk-in closet and randomly opened a wardrobe, only to find it filled entirely with women's clothing. Stunned, she stared at the racks of clothes. Reaching out to brush through them, she realized they were all brand new, with tags still attached.
She grabbed a top and a pair of pants before opening a drawer below. Inside were some bras. After taking a look, she was surprised to find they were all in her size. Scenes from the previous night flashed in her mind again. Her face flushed as she grabbed one of the bras. Shortly after, she found a pack of disposable underwear. She quickly slipped into the clothes-the top and pants fit just right.
As she looked around the entire walk-in closet, she couldn't help but wonder whether all of this had been prepared just for her. Ten minutes later, after washing her face and brushing her teeth, she opened the bathroom door. Her legs still felt weak and sore. ---- Shawn seemed to be waiting for her downstairs. Tara made her way to the first floor. She wanted to run, but her bag was still in his car.
Judging by the tightly shut front door, it was clear that she would not be able to leave without Shawn's permission. Left with no choice, she sat down across from him. Shawn never once looked up at her as he poured her a cup of coffee. Tara sat rigidly and didn't dare to look at the man before her. Slowly, he raised his eyes and peered at her through his glasses.
"So, what happened yesterday?" Tara raised her head in confusion and met his gaze -a metaphorical question mark floated above her head. "What do you mean 'what happened'?" Shawn seemed very patient, and his tone was as gentle as usual. "We slept together last night. What was the trigger and reason for it?" Tara thought she was hearing things. She stared blankly at Shawn, wanting to speak but ultimately stopped herself. What did he mean by that? "Mr.

Wilhelm, what's wrong with you?" ---- Wasn't he the one who had carried her into the villa and stolen her away from Lance? Tara even started to wonder if she hadn't woken up from her dream. Shawn softened his tone when he saw that her shock seemed genuine. "Sorry, I don't remember what happened yesterday.
I'm just curious as to why you, a housekeeper from the villa, were in my bed." His gaze and tone both carried a kind of scrutiny, just like when she had first arrived in this world and he had looked at her with suspicion. Tara's expression was one of extreme confusion. She suddenly recalled the system notification she had heard when she woke up-that sharp beep followed by the message, "Memory deletion failed". She had transmigrated into this world as a villainess.
Lance and Shawn were the male leads of the story, and yet she had now physically been involved with both of them. Shawn's reaction didn't make sense, and Lance hadn't shown up either. From what Tara knew of Lance, there was no way he would stay this calm. After putting all the strange details together, she couldn't help but consider a ridiculous possibility. "How much do you still remember about me?" Tara ---- asked cautiously. Shawn's gaze was gentle but emotionless.
He looked her over from head to toe. "I remember how you tried to seduce and hint at me." Tara's heart started racing involuntarily. "That's all? Nothing else?" He looked at her. "Was there anything else between us?" Tara was almost sure of her absurd guess. She secretly let out a breath and quickly replied, "No. Last night, we were both drunk, and that was why..." She blushed, too embarrassed to continue.
The images in her mind were too thrilling -there was no way she could say it without turning red in the face. When Shawn saw her beet-red cheeks, he pulled out a check and slid it onto the coffee table. "Whatever the case, you're the one who lost out. This is compensation." His implication was clear -he wasn't going to make her his girlfriend. He just wanted to settle things with money. Tara glanced at the check and counted the zeros-he was offering her 20 million dollars!
She instinctively wanted to refuse but ultimately stopped herself. If she truly wanted to walk away for good, then taking the money and ---- leaving was the best solution.
