---- Chapter 127 After watching Soren go upstairs, Tara uneasily picked up the takeout bag and brought it to the table at the side. When she opened the containers , she realized they were all her favorite food. She wasn't a picky eater to begin with, but these were undeniably the ones she liked best. She couldn't quite describe what she was feeling.

The man who had once pursued her so fiercely had lost all memories related to her, yet upon seeing her again, he somehow still remembered what she liked to eat. Tara didn't know why Soren was staying here for a whole month, and by himself, no less. She suspected he might have come for her, but judging from his behavior, it didn't seem like he remembered anything that had happened between them. 2 No matter how she looked at it, she couldn't make sense of what he was trying to do.

Golden light spilled over the terrain as the sun dipped. Tara stared out the window at the beautiful view but wasn't in the mood to appreciate it. Suddenly, she heard the sound of footsteps. When she turned around, she saw Soren walking up to the front desk. ---- He blurted out, "Tara-" But as soon as he spoke the name, he stopped, visibly surprised. He was sure he didn't remember her name, so why had it slipped out so naturally? Tara didn't think much of it and responded, "Mr.

Farrell, do you need something?" His eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at her. "Is your name really Tara?" She nodded instinctively , finding nothing strange about the question. "Yes, my name's Tara. Is something wrong, Mr. Farrell?" Her calm reaction made him feel like he was the one out of sorts, thinking maybe he had called her by name in the past. "How was the lunch I brought back?" he asked. Tara gave a polite smile. "They're all the food I love. Thank you, Mr.

Farrell." Soren looked at her smile, and for some reason, his eyes lingered on her lips. Then, he turned and left the guesthouse with his car keys in hand. He didn't start the engine right away once he got inside the car. The red glow of sunset filtered through the ---- windows , casting half his handsome face in light while the other half was hidden in the shadow. "Look into someone for me. Her name is Tara Thayer. She used to work as a live-in housekeeper in Bayheaven Villa.

There should be records of her there." Back in the guesthouse, Tara watched Soren drive off. Half an hour later, she went into the kitchen and made a bowl of instant pasta. She had just placed the bowl on the table and taken a bite of pasta when the door creaked open again. Soren walked in and saw her eating. He came over and set the takeout dinner down on the table before taking a seat across from Tara. His gaze made her feel incredibly uneasy, especially while she was eating.

She looked up and asked awkwardly, "Mr. Farrell, did you go out to get dinner?" His gaze shifted away from her lips, and his Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he hummed in response. Tara glanced at the takeout bag beside her and was about to suggest he sit at the other table when Soren reached out and took her bowl of pasta. He then placed the takeout bag in front of her as a replacement for the pasta. "Perfect timing.

Let me try your cooking." After saying that, he picked up the fork she had just used and slowly ---- ate the pasta. Tara was momentarily stunned. She lifted her hand, wanting to stop him. But it was too late, as he was already eating. "Mr. Farrell..." She didn't even know what to say. "If you don't eat now, the dinner I brought back will get cold," he said gently. Tara opened the takeout bag and began eating stiffly. He had clearly seen her eat some of the pasta, so why...

When she lifted her head again, Soren had already finished the pasta and was staring at her lips. The moment she looked up, she found herself staring into his eyes, which were dark and inscrutable as he gazed at her. She quickly looked down and continued eating. Fortunately , he stood up and went upstairs shortly after. Tara would be nothing short of dumb if she still couldn't figure out what was going on.

Judging from the way Soren acted during dinner, it was obvious he might be interested in her again. This realization left her dazed. Soren's memory had been altered by the system -he didn't remember her, so why was he developing feelings for her again? Tara felt a headache coming on. What should she do? ---- Forget it. She would go back to her cottage tomorrow, and as long as she didn't come out often, it would be hard for Soren to run into her.

Then, whatever interest he had would fade in time. Around 10:00 pm, Tara used the guesthouse landline to call all the guests to confirm that none of them planned to go out that night. After that, she locked the front door and went back to her cottage to sleep. The next morning, she woke up early out of habit and went to unlock the guesthouse's front door. Just as she opened it, Earl's younger sister rode in on an electric scooter. Elaine Grice was a beautiful young woman.

When she saw Tara, she greeted her without prompting. "Good morning, Tara." Tara had just picked up the padlock and was about to go in when she heard the greeting. She turned and greeted her back. As Elaine got off the electric scooter, she spotted Soren's luxury car and stared at it in amazement. "I'm not seeing things, am I? Tara, does this car belong to one of the guests?" Tara glanced at Soren's car and nodded.

"A distinguished ---- guest booked the mountain-view room for a month." Elaine hadn't expected Earl's little guesthouse to attract such a wealthy guest. She circled the luxury car with fascination. Tara set the keys on the front desk. "I'm heading back now. If you need anything, my number is on the desk. You can either call or come find me next door." Elaine was completely focused on the luxury car, staring at it without blinking.

She responded absentmindedly , " Sure, thanks for helping out." Tara couldn't help but shake her head with a smile at how fascinated she looked. She left the guesthouse and returned to her cottage, where she proceeded to start watering the flowers. After finishing, she straightened up and rubbed her waist with her left hand instinctively. She then walked to the wall to check the flower stalks, and when she looked up slightly , she saw someone standing just outside.

Soren stood there with his hands in his pockets, watching her with a smile for who knew how long. His sudden appearance almost startled her. "Mr. Farrell." "Morning," he replied lazily.
