Chapter 11 The first dinner with everyone together is always very interesting . The new Alphas get their first real dose of the difference in the hierarchy on the Train . That starts with our scating . Alpha James and Sebastain set the tone and tonight , even Alpha Will seemed to understand that we all sit together , family style .

Haley and I helped to set the table , while Mia and Sylvie got drinks for everyone , then Alpha James and Sebastian stepped up to grab plates heaping with food to bring to the table . I smiled at Alpha Daniel as he watched us all pitching in , frowning . " It's going to be like this for the next few months , Alpha , so you might want to get used to it , " Sylvie tells him as she hands him a drink . " We work hard , but we don't wait on you all the time , " Mia adds , handing Benjamin a drink .

" I guess we'll have to take our lead from the other instructors , " Benjamin says . " Probably a good plan , " I tell him as I hand him a dish of roasted potatoes . He quickly puts his drink down and takes the dish . " Do I put it anywhere ? " he asks . # " Yep . We eat family style , especially on the train . Once we're at the Academy , the young Alphas tend to sit off by themselves , especially at first . Usually by the end , they intermingle with the rest of us though . " I tell him .

" Yes ! " Alpha James says , beginning to clap as a sweaty and worn - out looking Laura comes out carrying a plate practically overflowing with steaks . Sebastian quickly comes forward to take it from her . " These smell delicious ! Thank you , Laura . " Emma comes out holding a large bowl of salad . " I made the salad , " she says proudly . " Thanks , Emma , " Alpha Will says . Once everything is on the table , we all sit , spreading out around the table .

I somehow end up sitting next to Sebastian on one side and Alpha Benjamin on the other . When I look around the table , it seems we did the boy / girl seating arrangement without saying a word . Laura is on Sebastian's other side and Sylvie , no surprise , is seated beside . Alpha James . We pass around the plates of food , serving ourselves and I let Alpha James and Sebastain lead the conversation .

This , too , is part of getting to know the people that we will spend a lot of time with over the next 3 months . Dinner is an easy aflair . Everyone complimented Laura on her cooking and Mia asked Emma what she can cook . " I don't know how to cook . I'm not an omega , " she replied . " Neither am I. But this is a job , and cooking is part of the criteria for working here . " Laura said , obviously over Emma and her crap . " Haley's not an omega and she made gnocchi from scratch , " I say .

" Best damn gnocchi I've ever had , " Alpha James says , smiling at Haley and making her blush . " I'm curious , Emma . Who vetted you for this position ? You don't seem to know much about the expectations of the job , " Alpha Benjamin says . He's probably the only one who would have asked that question as kindly as he did . " My Alpha , Alpha Axel , " she says .

" I'll speak to him and make sure he understands the requirements of the position so that any others in your pack who want to work on the Train in the future will know what they are getting into , " Alpha James says , although his tone is a bit harsher than his words and his smile holds no humor . Chapter 11 I spend some time getting to know Alpha Benjamin and Alpha Daniel .

While I'm not assigned to them , there are times when Alphas need assistance or information and all of us make ourselves available to them . I like to know the kind of Alpha they are and what their expectations are for the assistants so that I make sure if they ask me for anything , I can provide it to them in the way that is most acceptable to them .

It's easier for me , because I'm an Alpha , so someone like Alpha Daniel will have different expectations for me than he would for Haley , Emma , and Laura . I also don't think he'll ask me for much because I'm an Alpha . Alpha Benjamin , on the other hand , seems to be more accepting of the easy hierarchy here and like Alpha Will , is relaxing into it . " Who's on clean up ? " Alpha James asks . " Mia and I are , " Sylvie says . That's how we work it on the Train .

All of us take part in each meal , whether it's prep , cooking , or cleaning . At the Academy , we take shifts . " Okay , Alphas , I suggest you get settled on the Train while these ladies clean up , " he says , standing and grabbing his empty plate and grabbing Sylvie's too . I'm surprised when Sebastian does the same . I'm not surprised that he picks up his , I know he's showing the Alphas that they are expected to clean up after themselves , but he didn't need to take mine as well .

" Thank you , " I say as Alpha James tells the Alphas to meet in the back train car that we use as a meeting room at eight o'clock . Alpha Sebastian winks at me and takes the plates into the kitchen . Because I don't have any plate to carry . I grab the now emply platters . that were used for food and carry those back to the kitchen as well . I turn to check the table to see what's left as I walk . I suddenly feel strong , warm hands on my hips , and I swing back around .

" You should watch where you're going , Christina . " " I'm so sorry , Alpha , " I say and watch his eyebrow raise in disapproval . " Sebastian . " He smiles and takes the platters from my hands . " Is there anything . else ? " " No , it looks like the others have it , " I say , seeing Mia glance at me as she walks by. She made a point of reminding me earlier that I need to be careful if I decide to participate in the sex class . " Don't fall in love with him , Christina .

And I'll tell you , it's not easy to keep your feelings out of it when you have to be so vulnerable with them . You've never been mated , and Sebastian was on the leaderboard until his son knocked him off . When he turns to take the platters into the kitchen , I make my escape .
