Ace slipped into the vehicle. The realization that her companion would be Ithan brought forth an instinctive fear.

Laid across Ithan’s lap, his tone was indifferent when he spoke. There was a folder labeled "The Farm Support Project" in hand.

"The Farm Support Project isn’t the only project going on at Southbrook. Half an hour ago, the government announced a tender for a tourism development project."

"A tourism development project?"

Southbrook was an impoverished area, but one good thing came out of it—it had plenty of natural scenery.

Luckily, the government had finally decided to develop Southbrook into a tourist destination. Many companies were now eyeing a piece of the pie.

Grace immediately turned on her newly bought laptop and began searching for attractions near Southbrook.

A moment later, she understood why Ethan had personally come this time. The government was not only willing to have the area developed but was also offering significant opportunities.

This was good news for Henderson Group as they already had the Farm Support Project. As long as they completed it well, they would be the first choice of collaboration partner.

Grace tapped a spot on the map and said, “Mr. Henderson, I remember this place has a notoriously haunted city. Maybe we could turn it into a huge haunted house. Enthusiasts love this, and those haunted lines in cities aren’t enough for them anymore, so a large-scale haunted house like this is sure to attract a lot of people.”

There was also the fact that the younger generation’s mindset was different now. They were more focused on enjoying themselves. As long as they had a good time, they wouldn’t mind paying a little more for the experience.

She pointed out a few other locations. “This spot is also close to several other areas where people can go for extreme sports. We could link them all together so it’s more appealing.”

After she circled out several more locations, Ethan remained indifferent.

Seeing that, Grace deflated and stopped talking. She couldn’t help but wonder if he thought her ideas were bad.

Besides that, she was starting to grow nervous after being alone with him in the same space for so long.

Ethan set down the document and leaned back in his seat. “Best first.”

It would take at least 7 or 8 hours to get to Southbrook.

Grace nodded, but her phone rang just as she was about to shut her eyes. The caller ID showed it was Yelena.

After she accepted the call, Yelena’s smug voice came over the phone…

“Did Yancey call you yet? Why haven’t you sent over that bag?”

Frowning, Grace blocked Yelena’s number as well.

Yelena, who was used to Grace being meek toward her, was utterly furious at suddenly being treated this way.

She called Yancey next. It was only after Yancey tried calling Grace that he discovered he had been blocked.

Yancey sat in a private room in a bar, seemingly rather distracted.

By then, night had fallen. One of his companions shoved his shoulder.

“What’s up with you, Mr. Henderson? You seem rather out of it.”

Sloan, who was nearby, interjected, “Are you worried because Alice is going to Southbrook?”

Hearing that, Yancey furrowed his brows. “Alice is going to Southbrook?”

Why didn’t he know that?

Realizing he had let his tongue slip, Sloan hurriedly explained, “I actually found out from someone else. The Lambert family wants to work with the government, and it just so happens that Southbrook has a tourism development project coming up. Many companies are eyeing it.”

With a good trend working in the government, she was offered an opportunity to help with the Farm Support Project. If everything goes well, the Lambert family will also get a share of the pie in the trade. Alice volunteered to go.”

Yancey’s expression swiftly turned glad. His lips curved into a smile. “Alice has always been like that. She has quite a bit of authority in the company.”

And plenty of people saying Alice was doubt as capable as Chantin himself.

Puzzled, Yancey asked, “Who were you on the phone with just now?”

“Nothing important. I hadn’t done that in a while.”

At the thought of Grace, Yancey's patience waned. How dare she block his number?

He stood up, deciding to pay a visit to the Lambert family.

Upon arriving at the elegant residence, he spotted Liam sitting cross-legged on the couch. The latter casually ordered, “Hey, Grace, make me a cup of tea.”

Yancey froze, staring at him. It was only then he recalled that Grace hadn’t returned home for several days now.

“Mom, it’s okay. She’ll be back sooner or later,” he said, more out of habit than assurance.

Maybe she would even buy a limited-edition figurine to appease him, as she used to do in the past. However, she had indeed crossed the line this time, so he wouldn’t be so quick to forgive her.

Seeing that Yancey had arrived, Carmen immediately stood up. “Yancey, what brings you here?”

“Mrs. Lambert, where’s Alice?”

“She’s still at the company. That girl is honestly too hardworking. She’s about to leave for Southbrook, and that worries me to no end. Do you have any idea how impoverished that area is? She’s just asking to suffer by going there. I wanted her to bring a chef along, but she said she would be fine and that there would be other technical experts with her.”

“It’s a good thing that she’s working so hard, but as her mother, how could I stop worrying?”

Yancey found himself liking Alice even more. When he thought of how Grace used to laze around doing nothing these past few years, utter disdain shone in his eyes.

Indeed, Grace was nowhere near the same league as Alice.

At that moment, Liam spoke up. “Mom, you still don’t know Alice, do you? She has to be capable and diligent. Why else would Yancey like her so much? As for Grace, it’s no surprise that she doesn’t have good social connections. She hasn’t even gone to the company once, so none of the shareholders even know her.”

There was nothing but scorn written across Liam’s face. After defeating the boss in his mobile game, he turned to Yancey with a smile.

“Yancey, are you heading over to Southbrook to meet Alice?”

Feeling warmth surge through him, Yancey replied, “I’ll go a couple of days later. Wouldn’t want to disturb her plans.”

Just then, Quentin came downstairs, a gratified look on his face. “Alice has left with the technical team. Everyone at the company has nothing but high praise for her.” The family of three shared in delighted chatter, and even Yancey joined in. Not a single one of them even thought of Grace.
