If Grace could turn back time, she would have rushed to the Lambert residence last night, even if it meant risking her life.
She took a deep breath and ignored Yancey completely.
Yancey, on the other hand, was content. Despite knowing Grace for years, Alice’s arrival five years ago had captivated everyone's attention.
In due course, everyone started favoring Alice, and it had become so ingrained that no one questioned it.
Everyone assumed Grace was simply being difficult and would eventually come around.
The drinks from the delivery soon arrived, and everyone thanked Jessica, oblivious to the fact that Grace had actually ordered them.
Grace chose not to address the matter. She simply continued to work diligently on the files in front of her, as she had a meeting scheduled with a real estate agent later that day.
Having received 200 million dollars the night before, there was no reason to stay at work after hours. As the workday came to a close, she prepared to leave.
At that moment, Jessica approached her and handed her a stack of new materials.
"Grace, please sort these. I'll need them in an hour," Jessica instructed.
Grace furrowed her brow, flipping through a few pages. "Ms. Hull, you gave me these same materials on the first day. I've already noted everything that needs attention and compiled a list."
Jessica's expression froze. She had not expected Grace to complete the task so quickly, and when she saw the finished product, she was still in disbelief.
Convinced that Yancey must have helped, she brought over another stack of papers, most of which were duplicates of the ones from the first batch.
Grace quickly skimmed through the new stack, immediately recognizing that it was all familiar material.
She smiled at Jessica. "Or perhaps, Ms. Hull, is there something you didn’t understand?"
Jessica's expression darkened. "What do you mean by that?"
"I'm just stating the facts. The materials I've already organized are clear and concise. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

Jessica, the so-called "Alpha woman" of the office, couldn't hide her irritation.
She took a deep breath, retorting, "You probably had a man help you with these materials, Grace. What are you so proud of? If you didn't come from a wealthy family background, like mine, you'd probably be struggling to make ends meet."
Grace remained composed, her face serene. "Well, Ms. Hull, you truly are someone to admire. You're the epitome of a modern independent woman; we could all learn a thing or two from you."
Jessica's face reddened with anger, but she couldn't come up with a retort.
"Unlike you, a woman who only seeks validation from men, everything I have achieved is through my own hard work," Jessica scoffed.
Grace checked the time. Her patience was wearing thin. "I'm not interested in your personal history. If there's nothing work-related, I'm leaving."
"Grace!" Jessica barked in frustration as Grace headed straight to the elevator. She had no intention of escalating the situation, but Jessica's self-proclaimed "independence" had irked her. By putting down another woman, Jessica was not showcasing true independence. She was just seizing opportunities at the expense of others.
Grace met with the real estate agent as planned, who was polite and attentive.
"Ms. Lambert, this property is the finest in the area. The security is top-notch. Only residents or those with homeowner permission—"
While the property was indeed appealing, situated near the Henderson Group in a central yet peaceful area, the price far exceeded Grace's budget.
"This is beyond my means," she sighed.
Just as she finished speaking, another agent entered, accompanied by Alice and Carmen.
The agent was enthusiastic. "This villa has a small deposit and is located in the heart of the shopping district, making it an ideal place for a single woman. It's on sale—"
Carmen held Alice's hand, her expression full of sympathy. "This villa is only about 1000 square feet with a small garden. Are you sure you want to buy it? Mom can get you a better one."
Alice's face lit up. "A 1000 square feet is sufficient for me, and it's close to Yancey's office. I can visit him anytime."
Then they noticed Grace in the distance, surprised. "Grace, are you here house hunting too?"
Grace's expression darkened as well. "What are you doing here? Seeing that I'm buying a house for Alice, are you planning to cause trouble?"
